The first complete overview of the African fauna Lispe is published. paper consists 3 parts. (1) alphabetical list 55 taxa given with references, distribution data and, where necessary, taxonomic remarks or descriptions. (2) Addendum 26 which are not included in main (as synonymies for other reasons). (3) Identification key Africa. illustrated 47 figures. Six new described: alkaline sp. nov.; andrefana nov; confusa patersoni polonaise nov.;. selena nov. Nine statuses genus proposed: flavicornis Stein, 1909 = L. silvai Paterson, 1953 syn. niveimaculata 1906 sineseta Zielke, 1971, pectinipes Becker, 1903 xantophlebia Seguy, 1950, scalaris Loew, 1847 flavipes 1913 wittei 1956 ethiopica Vikhrev, 2012, geniseta macfiei Emden, 1941= 1941, stat. setigena Vikhrev et Pont, 2016 2016, ochracea 1910 canis Malloch, 1922 tentaculata draperi 1933 1933,
